NIEUWEGEIN, Netherlands — Remain Software released today TD/OMS V12.1, Gravity V5.1 and Remain API Studio V1.0.11, in line with the company’s historical commitment to ongoing development and support for its three signature application-lifecycle management, workflow and REST API editing/management solutions, respectively.

Designed ultimately to boost speed, stability, efficiency and productivity through development, testing, integration, project-management and delivery cycles, today’s version releases include new features and enhancements as follows, and additional highlights and full details can be found at associated web pages:

TD/OMS V12.1 incorporates an array of productivity-boosting refinements built to further streamline and enhance customers’ software application change- and lifecycle-management. Remain API studio V1.0.11 We’ve been using and refining Remain API Studio to the point of our team’s extreme confidence and enthusiasm in releasing this version for general availability to the public today. Remain API Studio provides users with a more functional, intuitive framework to increase productivity and efficiency when designing and managing OAS-spec-compliant REST APIs. New features include the capacity to convert Swagger APIs to OAS specifications, circumvent CORS restrictions and the inclusion of eight new generators. All three solutions are in-house developed and engineered for both IBM i and multi-platform environments. The open architecture and in-house attention enable Remain’s development team to anticipate and produce future-ready interface, integration and other updates and remain agile regarding implementation with new and emerging technologies. New features and capabilities are released to customers four times annually: Full-version releases transpire each summer, followed by three quarterly “Milestone” enhancement releases throughout the year.

“The consistency and reliability in our scheduling represents our entire development team’s customer-service mindset, as well as their expertise in anticipating industry trajectories and needs and then planning, engineering and delivering solutions accordingly in a timely and predictable manner,” Wim Jongman, CTO and co-managing partner, said. “We pay attention to user feedback and requests, and customers know that our next Milestone or new version release is always close at hand.”

Consistently, Jongman continued, the emphasis lies within support for user-ease and intuitiveness; process refinement for accuracy, efficiency and reliability; and enabling developers and IT teams to remain focused on the progression and success of their efforts, advance their development potential, and compound the return on their investments of time, attention and commitment to their work.

This sense of support is always essential, but perhaps even more critical today, Jongman noted. “And as we exit the current health pandemic,” he said, “we encourage fellow developers and business people to remain focused and to keep their eyes on their goals”

TD/OMS V12.1 highlights:

Labels

A new option enables the addition of labels to objects. Now developers can trigger actions, compiles and location selections and filter them in the “Components View” of the GUI.  Labeling makes working with groups of objects faster and easier.

Additional capabilities include: Find labels in the definitions view; filter labeled and unlabeled objects; use the command OMQRTVLB to retrieve a label and the labels of an object; label source members and messages; GUI search flexibility enables by label, by object or unlabeled, and assign labels to objects in green screen.

Unit testing Integration

Unit testing is a very important step in the development cycle. We all know that sometimes changes have a negative impact on a requirement previously coded, and utilizing automated scripts and setting up unit testing helps ensure that all scenarios are tested, not only those scenarios that pertain to the current change. For added user support and flexibility, we have integrated unit testing into our GUI. A node exists below the task showing the list of unit test programs. We also have full integration with iRPGUnit and RPGUnit.

Gravity V5.1 highlights:

XREF

When defining an Xref group, it can contain one or more locations. A group can be created, renamed or deleted from the Xref Configuration view. An Xref group can be selected when running the Advanced Xref wizard or when defining an Xref query definition.

Additionally, we have added ability to search an exact-match option enhances the search to overcome limitations imposed by certain special characters in the text being searched.

XREF Parallel processing was created to add more speed to the indexing process. Now you can have up to 10 indexing jobs running in parallel.

Links

With the enhanced Gravity UI, easily see if there are attachments or comments associated with an item by the counter next to the heading. Another counter shows the number of links, enabling the user to clearly see if there are any links associated with the item and access them readily.

We’ve also made it easier to copy the link of an item or specify how to open the item. We added a dropdown browser menu which displays available link options when you right-click an item.

Remain API Studio highlights:

Now directly and easily convert Swagger-2 APIs to support the latest OAS-compliant specifications within our Remain API Studio and save time otherwise spent on unnecessary pre-studio conversion steps.

Bypass the chaos while testing APIs via the Web. Now you can effectively avoid cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) restrictions by tunneling requests through a local server. Fetch APIs, deploy fonts and more without the standard cross-site-request frustrations.

We have added eight new generators:

  • typescript-redux-query
  • nodejs-express-server
  • dart-dio
  • php-slim4
  • java-vertx-web
  • kotlin-vertx-server
  • Nim client
  • OCaml client.
