PowerWire.eu has been appointed as official media partner of NiSUG’s International i-Power conference to be held later this month.

The UK National iSystems User Group‘s two day event takes place on June 18 and 19 at the Beaumont House Hotel in Windsor.

Frank Soltis (pictured), the father of the Power i, has been confirmed as keynote speaker on June 19 and will present a session entitled “Just how does that POWER chip get made?”. Other star speakers include IBM i world-wide product manager Alison Butterill, Irish RPG guru Paul Tuohy and PowerWire‘s very own Steve Bradshaw.

International i-Power is also this year’s major event for Common Europe, the umbrella organisation for 15 national user groups. The conference features 30 sessions by around 25 experts over the two days plus three major workshops and free tech certification sessions.

Commenting on the appointment, NiSUG chairman Mike Ryan said: “NiSUG has a long history with PowerWire and so the appointment of PowerWire.eu and Seamus Quinn to join with NiSUG was a no-brainer.”

Ryan also confirmed that talks had concluded to merge NiSUG with Britain’s other midrange user group, the IBM Computer Users’ Association (CUA) and its IBM i-related arm Common UK.

He said: “PowerWire.eu is still the only vehicle in the market that can reach so many customers and users and now that NiSUG has grown and absorbed the CUA, it needed a wide-reaching media partner. PowerWire.eu brings just that.”

International i-Power will be co-hosted by long-time NiSUG and PowerWire.eu partner and tech conference specialist NC Communications

Prices are £50 per day for NiSUG, COMMON Europe and CUA members or £75 for two days. For non-members the prices are £100 per day or £150 for both days. All prices are exclusive of VAT. For registration and accommodation details, see the International i-Power website.
