HelpSystems‘ ShowCase division has released a new version of its eponymous IBM i BI tool. ShowCase10 includes new executive dashboards, dynamic drill-down analysis, improved reporting and a redesigned interface.

Its creators say that a new ShowCase Deployment Bundle expands basic ShowCase into an ideal data access tool for both technical and end users. With a new built-in data repository, users are able to access their IBM i objects, saved queries, documents, spreadsheets and other BI assets from one centralised location via a browser.

Processes and reports can be run and re-run, delivering real time data each time, and results can be sent via email on demand or on a scheduled basis.

Help’s PowerTech division has announced a new version of its PowerAdmin user profile management tool. The latest version streamlines the process of onboarding new users and auditing profile settings. Profiles can also be monitored and updated in real time.

PowerAdmin lets administrators implement role-based security by specifying access rights based on job responsibilities. Users can be grouped by department, position or other categories, allowing the profiles to be managed as a single unit.

There’s also a new version of HelpSystems’ StandGuard Anti-Virus software for IBM i, AIX, and Linux.

Version 7.2 features performance optimisations for initialisation and scanning as well as improved threat detection. StandGuard Anti-Virus also includes McAfee’s scan engine. The new update includes recent enhancements to the engine enabling it to dig deeper into a wider range of files. These include compressed files, such as newer versions of ASPack, AutoIt and MSI.
