The latest version of HelpSystems’ Power i job scheduling and batch management tool Robot/SCHEDULE features new file event monitors.

In Robot/SCHEDULE version 12, event monitors can be set to watch for IFS file creation, removal and growth as well as physical file member changes that are used to trigger jobs further down the job stream.

A refreshed GUI is “great for those of us with aging eyes,” according to Jody Dahl, HelpSystems software development manager.

He says: “Really, we hope the refresh will encourage users to make the switch to GUI and take advantage of the product’s most robust scheduling options.”

Robot/SCHEDULE version 12 also includes additional reporting capabilities for event monitor parameters and history, as well as unused job reporting to identify jobs that are candidates for removal. To address concerns about security and compliance, its updated GUI uses Java Virtual Machine (JVM) version 1.7.

Help’s InterMapper division has also released a new version of its network monitoring, mapping, and alerting tool.

InterMapper version 5.8 features 64-bit support and a responsive web interface, which expands the product’s scalability to monitor diverse networks from any location.
