For the second consecutive year, Bedford-based IT firm Blue Chip has been recognised by Megabuyte as one of the UK’s best-performing technology companies.

Blue Chip beat off stiff competition to scoop the award for best-performing Infrastructure Services company for the second year running, reflecting the company’s dedication to providing superior solutions in the field. It was also listed within the Megabuyte50 again, celebrating the best performing businesses in the sector.

Megabuyte reviews the market annually to compile its Megabuyte50 list, which names the 50 best performing technology companies under private ownership. Achieving a listing is an enormous accolade, and Blue Chip has been recognised for the second consecutive year. Megabuyte uses a range of financial metrics and growth indicators to produce a Megabuyte Scorecard. Each eligible company is then ranked to finally produce a view of the top 50 performing businesses in the industry.

Since its initial listing in 2016, Blue Chip has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to advancing the technologies and services provided to customers. The company is investing over £5m in cutting-edge, software defined data centre technologies, designed to improve speed and consistency of delivery. It has also appointed a number of new board members to strengthen and refocus its leadership team.

Both the award and the listing are a reflection of the company’s impressive growth story and its commitment to delivering world class IT solutions to customers, providing exceptional service through its people and an overall dedication to engendering a positive staff culture across the business.

It has been a good year for Blue Chip; in addition to the Megabuyte award and recognition, the company was placed as a Top 20 cloud provider at the Cloudex Awards. This is in recognition of the unique capability that Blue Chip has created in developing cloud solutions for a range of mission-critical platforms, including IBM, in which it holds specialist expertise.

Douglas Greenwell, strategy, sales and marketing director at Blue Chip, said;

“Despite significant change in our market, Blue Chip continues to leverage its strong technical capabilities and, increasingly, innovation and automation to stay ahead of the pack. As such, it’s great to have this hard work recognised by again ranking within the Megabuyte50 and we are enormously proud of the full Blue Chip team. We’re continuing to invest in the future, with a particular focus on Z Systems, software-defined solutions and analytics; all truly exciting technologies that will enable us to continue to deliver best-in-class IT services to our growing base of customers.”
